Today I crossed out the contrate wheel and polished it. I also made an 80-hole ring in one of my index plates, in preparation for making the 80-tooth center wheel. I cut the 80-tooth center wheel with no problem, using my homemade index fixture and the same cutter I used to make the contrate wheel.
The 80-hole ring in the index plate was drilled with a 1/16" drill chucked so that only about a 1/4" extended beyond the jaws of the drill chuck. This made it possible to drill accurately without the use of a right drill.
The new 80-tooth center wheel had the right hole trued in a "box" as explained previously. Tomorrow I will cross out the wheel.
